潜水多年，受益良多，很佩服各位大牛的无私奉献，所以也想回报。看到下面的房东租客关系的贴有感，就分享我的经历吧。
我在疫区，7月中一家租客来信，说因为疫情，收入减少（没说丢掉工作），6月初就搬到郊区父母家，因为需要childcare，想8月用押金抵押。
这家租客两夫妇加上一岁的孩子，租了两年，有很好的工作，属于高薪人士，除了租金有时有拖无欠，续租的时候讲价不肯加租金以外，算是不错的租客。
我回信，说你们不要一点钱都不付，因为我受疫情影响最严重，这几个月都没有收入，如果他们一点钱都不付，会影响我还贷款的，建议8月份尽量付，比如3/5。然后问他们9月份怎么打算的，是否要break the lease 离开（我最怕的）。
他们回信，问我是否愿意以后租金减到3/5？但不回答是否要离开。
我想了一天，给他们回个信：
It is obviously a tough time that affects many people including you and me, I am just glad that we are all healthy and safe and you guys still have your jobs. It is so unprecedented, so I'm taking what my landlord did as a reference.
I am currently renting near my daughter's school. We left the city at the end of March and only returned last weekend. My landlord knows that I can't work and have no income the past few months due to the virus, even though she did not lower my rent, but I'm grateful she let me pay a little late, gave me the time to gather funds.
I wish I were in a better position to offer you more recession, but I am trying my very best. Here are my proposal:
--you can pay 3/5 of the rent amount in August, and resume the regular rent from September on.
--I can reduce $200 from the rent per month from August till the end of your lease.
--or I can help you find a new renter, you can leave the property and will be released from your lease once we have the new renter.
