Even if he got unfairly fired from job, he can easily take some contract jobs or find another job, it's not so hard. Well, the only possible guess is that he really has cash flow problems. Why? because he holds a lot of vacant lands. As we all know, holding vacant lands in a declining market is like committing financial suicide. Land doesn't provide rental income, thus, has no cash flow. Another mistake may be too much buying during 2005 when the price was near peak. I suspect that he has cash flow issues, compounded with an unfair firing (presumed), that pushed him to the limit.
