Police: Laid-Off Man Kills Three Inside Santa Clara Office



Santa Clara police said Friday that a man who had recently been laid off from his workplace had shot and killed three of his co-workers.

Police said that Jing Wu, 47, of Mountain View, shot and killed one woman and two men inside the office building. There were no other injuries.

Detectives said the shooter was described by witnesses as an Asian man. Officers said they believed the man to be on the loose, and no longer in the building. Several police vehicles were on the scene.

Detectives said they believed the man to be a suspect in a previous crime that was under investigation.

Investigators said the shooting happened at 3255 Scott Boulevard Building #7. The building is located at Coronado Drive and Central Expressway. This is not far from Intel's headquarters.

Police said it was not known what company the three people might have worked for. Officers said the crime was being investigated as a workplace shooting.

Officers are searching for either a silver SUV or a Mercury Mountaineer.

Police said they believe Wu used a hand gun. They consider Wu armed and dangerous.
