千万不要买 American home shield 的 home warrantty

我的出租房买了 home warranty，热水器坏了，先付 $75 检测，要换热水器，换就换好了，可是没有那么简单，拖了三天才来人，说必须modify 水管，才能换，modification is not covered, 我必须额外再付 $400美元做水管的modification, ridiculous!!!

This is a standard water heater, why do I need to pay this extra?

If I ask an third company to change the water heater, it would only cost me $600, including all parts and labor. Installation and haul away the old one only cost $150, but their contractor asks $400 for extra charge besides the standard installation covered by home warranty.

Waited for another 2 days, they give me another option to cash out, which is only $405, it's well lower than the market price of a gas water heater itself, not to mention the labor.

I was on the phone for three hours. Another occassion is, after 1 hour of waiting, they hung up.

Stay away from this company, period.
