the biz model is all similar, hire a body at $x and rent out at $3x.
you cut out the middleman and collect the risk premium by renting yourself out for $2-2.5x while basically doing the same daily stuff, that extra $100k or whatever just throw into SPY at 6% return after inflation or 9% before.... 15-20 years later there is a portfolio of anywhere between $2-5m, should be enough for a laying on the beach life style.. just put them into various assets that should return about 5% relatively safe.
any white collar service worker can do this... most blue collars too.
this goes back to my barrier of entry argument... a professional's skill set is the edge that no average guy on the street can overcome.
