Then they are not too much a trouble maker.  A true trouble maker will deduct the FULL cost.

Let it go this time, but tell them in writing next time they should strictly follow the lease agreement regarding repairs.  I don't know what lease you used so cannot advise.   Copy the relevant portion of the lease and tell them exact what you expect them to do, e.g. notifying you about broken items, etc.
