what is difference of Investing Bank and Annuity

XDJM,

Someone is introducing me Annuity with 6.5% fixed rate of Contractor investment. Agent of Bank for my IRA investment said Annuity is worse than the Fund Investment which he did for my IRA. I don't know the real difference. Who may give me a simple introduction on their difference?
