Vegas, Victorville, and Palmdale were hit badly in the previous housing crises, leaving a high percentage of houses under water. In the past 5 years, distressed housing prices attracted many investor buyers, including a lot of Chinese buyers in these cities. Not sure if this high-speed train project will help boost housing markets there.
Victorville and Palmdale are both 40 miles north of Los Anglese, one to the east and the other west.

中国铁路总公司牵头的中方联合体与美国西部快线公司合资建设美国西部快线高速铁路。
中方联合体在美国注册成立的中国铁路国际（美国）有限公司与美国西部快线公司１３日在拉斯维加斯市签署协议，双方将组建合资公司，建设并经营“西部快线高速铁路”。该高铁从内华达州拉斯维加斯到加州胜利谷victorville和帕母代尔palmdale，最终到洛杉矶，全长３７０公里。预计工程于２０１６年９月底开工。
