1 Review the deed to the property if you have it available. The easements will be explained in the legal description of the property. Obtain a copy of the deed from the county clerk or recorder if you don't have one. You'll need to know basic information about the property, such as the address, parcel number and property owner's name.
2 Contact the county or city's zoning or mapping department for information about property easements. This department is often in charge of keeping records of surveys and plot maps.
3 Call or write to the entity with the easement rights -- to request the easement information regarding a certain property.
4 Hire a title insurance company, or private title searcher, to preform a search for easements. They charge a fee for their services, but should be able to provide you with a comprehensive report.
