为什么意大利里维埃拉 翻译成 利古里亚? 哪里来的发音 "古"? 请赐教

According to this Youtube tutorial,  V in Italian is the same as V in English.

Shouldn't Riviera translates to 里维埃拉, by the pronunciation?  为什么利古里亚?  古代的名字?
