其實我也不喜歡頓悟一説。

Better without it, since  if one pursues it as some fixed goal, due to its very nature, one can't achieve it. And secondly it is a natural target for simple  唯物主義. Therefore this word 頓悟 either hinders the believers or invites attacks from the non-believers.

So, better without it, or at least without pronouncing it.

This being said, still one shouldn't reject the possibility of the mind achieving some deeper and more comprehensive perception into the nature of existence, whether or not it is called 頓悟 is less important. When we learn a foreign language, such as English, there is a moment when we gain complete freedom from its rules and the language as a whole makes perfect sense, and now can be commanded, manipulated by us at will. If learning a foreign language in this manner can be a function of the mind, why not learning about the more general nature of existence being the other?
