In short, there are definitely better coaches

than JVG, as a semi-fan of him, I only rated him around 6,7,8 spot in current coach list. I was saying we don't fire for the sake of firing, and you also agreed. There isn't a better choice now.

D'Antoni? I definitely don't believe his capability to make a good big man he only coached half season at Atlanta in 1998 with a 0.280 record before his lucky Suns tenure.

I never said JVG is the only suitable coach for Yao. I even gave names in my previous posts. But at the time, Brown didn't want to come, between Silas, Dunleavy, and JVG, my obvious choice is Van Grumpy.

As for the commitment thing, I agreed it's a business, and reiterated in another post as well. But you can go out saying that we keep looking, you have to at least you are committed. Before you have a clear alternative, i don't think talking about coach changes is wise. You either stick with your gun, or fire him on the spot. All my lengthy debates was pointing to one single point, he's good enough to deserve another season with a healthy TMac and a emerging Yao Ming.
