Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin has a chance to become an All-Star for the first time in his career next season, thanks to his growing fanbase overseas and thousands of loyal Lakers fans.
It has been a whirlwind of an offseason for the former Harvard graduate. After two up-and-down seasons with the Houston Rockets, the 25-year old Lin found himself as a member of one of the most successful franchises in the league - the Lakers.

So how's being a Laker a big deal to Lin's All-Star chances? It's simple. Everybody knows the Lakers have the most passionate fanbase in the NBA. Lakers nation is all about loyalty. Through thick and thin, their supporters are always there to give their team a boost.
Add thousands of hardcore Lakers fans to Lin's charismatic appeal overseas, and there's no doubt that it could lead to an All-Star stint next season. In fact, he could be a starter for the Western Conference All-Star.
Last year, Lin finished third in All-Star balloting just behind starter Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry. China, which boosted Yao Ming to eight All-Star starting appearance during his career, and Taiwan are where most of the votes for Lin came from.
So, if these votes from this nations continue to pile up along with additional Lakers followers, Lin may perhaps be on his way to become an All-Star in next year's mid-season festivities at Madison Square Garden in New York - the place where he first made a name for himself.
Predicting Lin's Upcoming Season
Although it would be premature to say Lin will be having a helluva of a year with the Lakers next year, things are starting to shape up this early.
With the arrival of head coach Byron Scott, Lin will be given a chance to assume a bigger role for the team, whether as a stater or a backup to ageing playmaker Steve Nash. The bottom-line here is Lin will log more than 30 minutes per game next season.
Moreover, former All-Star power forward Carlos Boozer is going to be a blessing for him because of the big man's ability to play effectively off a pick-and-roll play. Lin is one of the better playmaker running the pick-and-roll system, and Boozer's presence alone would allow him to orchestrate the play to perfection
