Better Choice for Lin to be traded?

Please don't laugh at me; I am a trade-blind.

One worst senario for Lin to me is:

to be traded to another team first;
to be cut  by the team  right before Lin's contract becomes valid.
to find some other team after?

If the above procedure is oK in NBA, do we still want Lin to be traded to another team?

I am apologize in advance if my above worry does't work.
