If Lin wants to play for the Knicks so bad

all he needs to do is to have his agent tell the Knicks that Lin would accept the MLE (the biggest contract that Knicks can offer) if the Knicks put that on the table.  I don't see the Knicks would back off from that.  The Lin camp clearly think he worth more than that and went out shop for a deal that is bigger than the MLE.  That is normal, why is that so difficult for some people to understand?
