No, Howard is good at rebounding and blocking,

but poor at on-man defense, and even worse in PnR. That's why Yao could always do whatever against him. Facing prime Shaq, Howard's gambling of blocking won't work. Facing prime Dream, his footwork and mid-range fade-away jumper would make Howard look awful. Facing prime Ewing, his steady jumper and strong base, Howard wouldn't have any answer.

At the other hand, Howard's go to move was only going from left to right, circling inside for a jump-hooker (prayer). Those were centers average 3+ blocks, Howard wouldn't stand a chance.
