Sorry I still prefer English to discuss, hope you don't mind.
Bynum is a 7'2" 265lb true center, something that's hard to come by. Ask all the GM of this league and see who they prefer to build around, a young center with a lot of potential, or a wing player who also has a lot of upside.
Bynum averaged 20/10 the month before his injurie this year. And if you watched the games, his dominance on both ends of the court goes beyond the stats.
Trevor was a GREAT role player. He helped this team win and this is why, NOW, even if he is gone, I am going to buy his jersey just for the memories.
But, he is only a role player, who will not get more than the MLE, especially in a bad time like this. He is a good slasher, but not great because of his lack of ball-handling skills. He has only become a good shooter this year, and part of it has to do with the open shots the team has provided him. He is a very good defender, but more of a ball hawk who has this knack for steals, than a good man-to-man defender (see Artest, Battier, etc.).
At the end of the day, Trevor and his agent overplayed their hand. If he wanted, he could've easily gotten the same deal.
With that said, I am SAD that he's gone. He is one of my favorite Lakers.
