Will there ever be a manager tolerating crappy attitude from your below average performing employee? I don't think so. If Yao shows attitude towards JVG, JVG will yield and tolerate. If Yao tells CD and Les that he will leave if they don't fire JVG, JVG will be let go in a New York second. TMac would have less but also very strong power as well. However, Bonzi? Noway. With Yao's working ethic, yes, role players have to match, or at least try to match. If Rockets' coach put up with that, no matter who that might be, he will run the team downhill like the Trailblazers.
PJ didn't even put up with Pippen, LB never puts up with anyone. Big Ben was shipped out due to his in-cooperation with FS. One can always spin it as to say whether JVG did it for the team or own ego, but no one can blame him for benching Bonzi for lacking of contribution and preparation.
It's always easier to say than to do, any 15th player on the end of the bench has own fans. People will demand this or that player to get minutes. However, as outsiders, we don't know. As casual fans, we don't know either whether this player fits or not. Afterall, JVG has been a hot candidate for COY due to his commendable job while Yao was out for 10 weeks. To speculate too many things to evaluate the job he has done, is just not fair.
Let's be honest here.

I'm not saying JVG should play Wells or V-Span or whoever
