Xu Xin Is The 2015 Chinese National Men’S Champion

Coming from a wonderful week in the Asian Championships, Fan Zhendong’s momentum somehow declined this week and lost in the Singles. Upsets were also recorded after Ma Long and Fang Bo got beaten somewhere in the competition. In the end, surprisingly, Zhang Jike battled against Xu Xin in the finals.
Sina Sports. The Chinese National Championships Singles event progressed to its last day of competition and the concluding stage was battled by Zhang Jike and Xu Xin.
Yesterday, a big upset was recorded after the reigning world champion Ma Long was defeated by Wang Chuqin in the round 16. The latter scored 11-6, 11-4, 8-11, 11-9, 11-9. Aside from Ma Long, Fang Bo was also ousted yesterday by Zhou Kai in 3-4.
This morning, the competition progressed into the quarterfinals. Zhang Jike showed an impressive form, contradicting what he showed last week in the Asian Championships. He scored 4-1 against Yan An and defeated Shang Kun in the semis.
In the other half of the draw, Xu Xin overcame Zhou Kai in 4-2 and faced Fan Zhendong in the semifinals. Last weekend, Xu Xin was defeated by the 18-year old. But this time, a different result was posted. Xu Xin eliminated Fan Zhendong in 4-1.
The last men standing in the finals were Zhang Jike and Xu Xin.
It was a bit surprising that Zhang Jike showed good control over the match at the start. He had the opportunities and even got the first advantage. However, Xu Xin was equally strong as well. He caught up and was able to capitalise on his advantages.
In the end, Xu Xin defeated Zhang Jike in 9-11, 12-10m 11-9, 11-9, 11-6.
