but I never considered that Lakers with 4 future HOFs could win over Pistons. The only thing i didn't expect is that they almost got swept. But in fact, they were on the verge of being swept by the Spurs, if it wasn't for the 0.4 second Fisher "miracle". Speaking of bad officiating, that is bad officiating. To lose so clearly, and claim conspiracy of refs, that's just lame.
That Lakers team was still Shaq and Kobe, but they had to share the ball with Malone and Payton. The glove was no longer the old one, except for his trashing talking; Malone was not in top shape. Malone + Payton in that year, were less effective than Shaw + Grant + Fisher + Fox. How could they win? 4 great players? It's more like 2 great players + 2 has-beens. Pistons beat them fair and square.
There are bad calls every game, that's a given. But I guess we shall pass this misery of conspiracy every single year. Isn't that too damn different and tiring to fix every game every year? NBA has better things to do. Do you still remember that 4 minutes 14 points charge Lakers had in game 7 against Portland? Remember Shaq's goaltending (uncalled), and offensive foul (his 6th) during that period? Do you remember game 6 and game 7 bad officiating against the Kings? Are those all conspiracy? So refs are out there to screw everybody except for Lakers 3 years in a row, and then turn their backs to screw Spurs first, and then screw Lakers only in the final? Is that a video game, or what?:D
