Nikon D7000? what lenses to have with it?

I am purchasing my first DSLR camera. Someone recommended Nikon D7000. If my main use will be kids pictures (for in door and out-door), what kind of lense should I have? Will a 18-105mm F3.5-5.6G be enough? If not, what should I buy for in-door use and what out-door? Many thanks.
