Brief itinerary: Nairobi, Mt Kenya NP, Samburu Game Reserve, Lake Nakuru NP, Masai Mara. 2009年十一月中下旬。It was very dry there since no rain for five months.
#1 (#1-8 Samburu) 听见门外一阵呼啸,俺抓了傻瓜机冲出去,七八只baboons在前面跑。
#2 An antelope.
#3 Security guard (male) and elephants. There was a foot-high brick wall in-between.
#4 View from hotel restaurant.
#5 About 40 elephants passing our vehicle. They cross thousands of miles searching for food.
#6 Samburu people dancing. The nomadic Samburu people tend their livestock for living. They wear colorful clothes to scare off lions.
#7 Samburu people may fight against lion when needed.
#8 Guess the age of this lady in our group. 如“十日谈”, we told stories all the way on the road. There is enough material to write a novel from her life stories.
#9 (#9-10 Lake Nakuru) Buffalo and dentist.
#10 When this rhino got close to our vehicle, our guide started the engine and was ready to go. Rhinos can easily turn over a small car or damage a big car. Rhinos, buffalos and hippos have 犟牛脾气 and are the most dangerous game on the veldt (草原).
#11 (#11-19 Masai Mara) 全家福?一共几只猴子?
#13 Baby.
#14 猴子看上去很可爱。看 见一只小猴子抢人包,被打跑了。
#15 “鹤立鸡群”。
#16 “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. Three nomadic male lions there. Nomadic male lions were driven away by the dominant male lions. When they are fully grown, they will fight the dominant ones. It’s very peaceful most of the time and bloody only occasionally. Our guide was great, finding lions and leopards 2 miles away by smelling.
#17 Baboons and vultures on school soccer field. When back after a couple of hours, kids were playing soccer there. 和谐哈。
#18 One week old baby hippo on mother’s neck.
#19 There were about 40 hippos in hotel’s hippo pool.
#20 卡车是Mercedes 的(on the way back to Nairobi)。郁闷哪。俺少见多怪了。
#21 Lexus and cows on a street in Nairobi.
