1314西部行 (2) The South Coyote Buttes

The Coyote Buttes 分North和South，the North Coyote Buttes就是大名鼎鼎的the Wave。去South Coyote Buttes 要permit。每天20个人。10张online，10张onsite。我们先订了dreamland的tour for South Coyote Buttes and White Pocket. 我们趁星期五去Kanab的BLM的visitor center。冬天的星期五发下3天的The Wave的permit，尽管是tour，我们还需要permit去South Coyote Buttes。八点10分到，还好拿到了剩下3张permit的2张。再晚一点可能South Coyote Buttes也泡汤了。然后去摇the Wave的lottery。要去the Wave的人多了去了。我们那天有74个entries。平均1个entry是3人，那天发3天，就是30个人的permit。我们的机会是1/7. 当然没运气了。那天老中多了去了。我看有80%！！

一点小tip给要去Coyote Buttes的同学：冬天路还行，沙子在冬天比较结实，容易开一点。一般先去South Coyote Buttes, then White Pocket. White pocket 回Kanab的话可以走89A，如果租车的话，一定要租high clearance 4x4. 那Ford Escape 太低。自己去，别忘了带hiking GPS。有可能rent个satellite phone。如果能在车里住两天就更爽了。 safety first！！
