my x100s focus experience:

- You can move AF point to any of 25 on sensor phase detection points(OVF) , or 49 phase + contrast detection points(EVF or LCD).  Unlike NIkon DSLR,  it is a two steps procedure to move the AF.   On x100s, you have press "up" first, then move the AF point.  I am finding this is a bit slow and annoying on the street.

- I hardly use manual focus on my DSLR(except zone focusing), however, I think X100s manual focus mechanism is quit useful.  One can zoom in and use one of three focus assistance modes(normal, focus peaking, or split).   I use focus peaking the most.  Keep in mind that in manual focus mode, one can't move the focus point(only center focus).   I haven't find a good way to zone focus without looking through the view finder on x100s.
