I was using F8 and ISO 200-400 mostly.

It may be good to use different setting combos. Sometimes long exposure can make pattern too messy and sometimes overexposed. 
I may try shorter exposure next time. It's a learning experience for me. I will try to shoot fireworks next week on Detroit river.
