i agree with you on this too, by eliminating the tricky part "无穷"in the original question.
当n成为有限整数后，每次换信封有更高的, 待值的推断就不成立了，因为当你抽中最大的面值时，换信封就损失很多。总的数学期望是一样的，换或不换。

i.e. if 原题有两个信封， 一个1元， 一个10元， 换不换。。。。
