我开始构思这个故事--是在比利时的林子的深处。

 

那林子又高、又密、又冷。---到处是德国人。比利时人、法国人、美国人、英国人、加州的舌头软蹋蹋的新移民的新兵。

 

我躺、卧、坐、站----怎么着都不是。我不是爱抱怨的纽约人。我是出生在布法罗。---几个月后到了纽约市。

 

我父亲出生在基辅。母亲出生再PONTOISE。诺曼底的海风常常横扫那里--

不过是千年前的事。

I lay, lie down, sit, stand----nothing is wrong. I am not a New Yorker who loves to complain. I was born in Buffalo. ---After a few months, I arrived in New York City.

 

My father was born in Kiev. The mother was born again PONTOISE. The sea breeze in Normandy often sweeps there --

But it was a matter of millennia.

 

When the Germans were entering Warsaw, I was in the third year at Yale - anthropology. -- I like nature and nature. Not the nature of Belgium. It is the nature of the Great Smoky Mountains, the Grand Canyon, the waterfront of Maine, the terraces, valleys and lakes of New Hampshire.

Mais c'était une affaire de millénaires.
