Being bothered by bad neighbour, ask for suggestions--

I would like to let you know that your furniture makes very big noise during early morning like 3:00am, 4:00am 5:00am ........ This wakes me up almost every time when it happens. I wish you could make some change about it.

The reply I got---

I think we both know what you are referring to and frankly you are way out of line. First I do not believe my girl friend and I are being excessively loud. Secondly when we chose to have sex is really none of your business.
I have lived in down stairs apartments before and I am aware you can hear things in the apartment above you, especially if you are listening for them. I am asking you to please act like an adult and afford my girl friend and I a reasonable amount of privacy.
This would include not repeating past incidents where you have acted out by hitting your ceiling and playing your stereo excessively loud.
