Help!!! Grace period after OPT

Dear all,
I have a big favor to ask. I heard of the 60-day grace period after OPT. There will be a lap of one month between my OPT expiration and my H1B starting point. I wonder if anyone knows the exact Law stipulations on this grace period. If possible, where can I locate such laws? The lawyer of my company insisted that I should leave US after OPT and come back with the H1B visa. I need to show him some officially source of info to convince him that I can stay.
