忘记去DMV报告，我应该怎么办

两年前，我卖掉旧车，但却忘记去DMV报告。上周收到一张Parking Ticket,才意识到新车主并没去DMV注册。现在这辆车仍在我名下。问题是我已找不到售车记录，无法release my liability。急切请教各位大师，我应该怎么办？
