He is a licenced contractor.

The 1st contract only includes the reinstall drywall, paint the first floor etc. the price is $6500. (the contractor verbally offer to paint the second floor, but not in written) He started the job intenionally from the 2nd floor. When he finished the paint in second floor, he asked for another 5-6 thousand. We does not agree with that price and renegociated with him, singed the second contract with total price $9000 (including the work on 1st and 2nd floor). We paid the contractor so far $8500, since he said he has some cash problem, we must pay him to continue the job. We reserve the rights to pay the fianl $500 at completion. THen he just gone.
