请教各位，在NJ，Lease没到期，要搬家，房租一直得继续缴

最近买了Apartment附近的房子，下个月搬家。
本来是去年签的lease，到今年9月1号到期，三个月前来通知说必须决定是续lease（6个月或一年）还是到期退房，当时还没有找到合适的房子，就决定续6个月，到明年3月。但这个月初看中了一个房，房主要尽早closing，而我十月中旬就要生小宝宝了。所以定在9月底搬家。结果现在的apt manager说不能更改lease只延期一个月，我们的房租必须一直缴下去到明年3月lease结束，算了算大概要1万多美元。我们实在是无法同时支付新房的mortgage，生孩子花的钱还外加这一万块钱。
翻了翻老贴发现有位大侠post过“According to NJ law, there are several exceptions when it comes to breaking the lease, buying your own residential property is one of them. Give your landlord 2 months notice and move out on that day, your landlord has to return your deposit as well.” 但打电话给apt manager 人家说不知道有这么个law。
想问问诸位在那里能找到类似的法律条文呢？
如果找不到这个law的话，请问我们还有什么其他的办法吗？找个中意的房子实在不容易，请大家帮帮忙。
