It depends on the insurance policy. If the policy covers lending the vehicle to another person and the payment exceeds cerntain threshold, your friend's insurance premium will increase. Otherwise, nothing for your friend.
2. Both insurance card and insurance invoice are proof of insurance. They are not legal documents that must be recognized by a police officer. I think what you got was not a warning for you to provide insurance proof information.
