關鍵就在於wire taping law 中有關"未經授權"錄音的條款，不在乎你的用途在於你如何取得錄音的方式，所以不論你是自用或是公諸於世，只要您未經對方書面或是口頭同意就錄下與對方的談話就很可能觸犯了法令，在馬里蘭州最高的刑期是五年的有期徒刑
