开车超速

Drove out of the Church during the thanksgiving holiday, stopped by a policeman cited I was driving at 72MPH over a 45MPH zone. Honestly I was not checking speedometer at the time, but I have doubts about the policeman’s measurement. The place he stopped me is only 0.53 miles away from the church, and my car is an old Nissan sentra92, it cannot speed up that easily, but I had no proof. The church is build on this main road, in fact, I heard the church had applied for a traffic light at its intersection, so people can drive out safely, but got denied by township unless if church is willing to pay huge amt for this light.
The citation penalty itself is $80, plus all misc fee it is up to 180(what a rip off!), and the worst part is that I will get 5pts on this. Under PA law, my license will be suspended if reach 6 points, and PA state does not offer any driving course to reduce the point. I applied for distric court trial and the court date is set at next week. I heard that it is hardly to reduce any monetary penalty, is there any way I can lower my points at the court?
Also, Does any one know if it is a routine for the insurance company to check driver’s record upon renewal? My auto insurance will get renewed in coming march.
