In California, it is illegal for an unlicensed person to perform contracting work on any project valued at $500 or more in labor and materials. California Business & Professions Code section 7031(a) prevents an unlicensed contractor from collecting on debts owed to them by consumers under contracts due to their unlicensed status. This means that a court will not enforce the illegal contract.
My lawyer office suggests to reply him back with: the eviction will start on 7/19 per the 30 day notice, unless he goes to the law office to sign a stipulation to agree to move out on 7/30. But I don't think he will sign, he needs to find a place, the eviction can give him 2 month time to stay in the house.
But I wont pay him for his material until he moved out. I can use his suspended license as a weapon finally. He threats me all the time, lies after lies, you will never believe how bad a person could be. Any suggestion on this?
