急问有关车祸被诉

年初在Florida度假时车祸。我们的车左拐时被一辆直行的车撞上，我们的车全毁，人没事。对方车上三人，当时看上去没事，可事后要求赔偿每人25,000，超出我们的保险policy。保险公司发来对方律师提供的全部文件，告诉我们如果法庭判决超过我们的policy，我们可能要自己负责赔偿 (In the event that the claims or judgments made against you are in excess of your policy limits, you will be personally liable for such excess). 在此情形下，保险公司说我们可以自己请律师。

我想请问各位有经验的专家，通常这种车祸法庭会判高额赔偿吗？对方实在是敲诈，当时我们因为左拐，几乎是停止的速度，对方速度比较快。文件显示他们当时谁也没上ER，是事后才去的rehab。另一方面，如果有这种可能性，我们是否应为自己请车祸律师？各位有无车祸律师推荐？谢谢大家!
