Don't bring cash (>$10,000) with you. That is too dangerous. If found, you will have trouble and lose your money!

Change your Chinese money in a China BANK in China to US dollars, and ask that bank how you transfer your money to the States. You will be given a good answer!

Don't worry about your income tax here because the money was your saving in China.
