"Unsafe Lane Change" - how much chance do I have?

很郁闷地说,早上送孩子上学,回家路上得一ticket.

在local的路上,有三条道,我在中间开. 因回家要左转,我早早就开始寻机换道. 这时左侧的车在一路口左转,我就想这是一个机会,因转弯车辆会slow down后面的车,于是我就打灯准备换道. 没想到后面一辆车加速赶上来,不让我换,我减速它就慢下来,我加快它就快,一直在我左后侧跟着,却不跟上前面的车. 这样试了几次,眼看离我要左转的路口越来越近,我将速度放慢,这样就与前一辆车有点距离,然后加速换到左边.

我一直以为跟着我的只是一位mean and rude driver,可他是位警察,但他不是开的普通警车. 警灯亮了,他就给我一张罚单"unsafe lane change". "You should not assume others will yield when you change lane." 可是我并没有这样想啊,从我打灯到换道至少有600-800ft,我试了好几次才换过去,也没有超速. 我一向开车很小心,换道更是谨慎,因我从不认为自己技术高超.我从来没有accident和ticket,也不知道有"unsafe lane change"的违规. 我感觉受到不公平待遇,这位不良警察一直跟着我,故意迫使我"违规",然后给我ticket.

The county clerk said I could pay $155 and take driving class to get the ticket off my driving record. If I go to court and don't win, they may increase the fine and the ticket will remain on my reord.

I feel I should go to the court to fight for the ticket, not for the money, but for being treated unfairly by the police officer and for his inappropriate use of police power.

Does anyone have advice or experience to share?  Will a traffic attorney help? 谢谢了先!
