The only thing I want to say is your feeling is wrong. 

Many people came to a totally wrong conclusion without any fact and that really surprised me. 

Did I ever want to leave my hu*****and before, other than this? No. 

Did he hit other people than my son? Yes, (not me)

Is this the first time he hit my son? No. 

On the other hand, why should you care? 

If there is anymore I would like to say, you spelt "period" wrong, too. Call yourself smart may not be a smart thing to do.
