求助： 车祸三年后被索赔50万

三年前老婆出了个车祸。对方去年起诉我老婆，要求索赔50万（25万赔偿汽车，人身受伤以及误工和25万惩罚性赔款）。最近就要上庭了，想向大家请教些问题。

车祸经过：
出事地段每个方向有3车道。老婆在右边第3车道，对方的车左拐横跨3个车道撞到老婆的车。右边第3车道有右拐的箭头，供车辆拐进停车场和从停车场出来右拐，很多人都在那条道上直行。出事后，没人受伤，双方都给了CITATION,两个车都托走了。

警察报告上对方是DRIVER 1，她的CITATION是“The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection or into an alley, private road, or driveway shall yield the right of way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. ”。我老婆的CITATION是“Official traffic-control devices may be erected directing specified traffic, including but not limited to buses or trucks, to use a designated lane or designating those lanes to be used by traffic moving in a particular direction regardless of the center of the roadway, and drivers of vehicles shall obey the directions of every such device”

在警察报告上和跟我们保险公司打交道是我老婆都说她准备右拐进停车场的。我们保险公司认为错在对方，拒绝赔偿对方的车和医疗费用，只是支付了我们的修车费用。

我们以为事情这样就结束了。车祸后两周年差3天我们收到对方的起诉书，要求索赔50万（25万赔偿汽车，人身受伤以及误工和25万惩罚性赔款）。我们把起诉书交给我们的保险公司，他们派了律师专门处理这个案子，最近就要开庭了。

老婆她当时确实想直行而不是右拐。她觉得在庭上撒谎良心上说不过去，所以她打算说实话，承认是她自己的错。

我们的问题：
1。我们的保险额是10万而对方索赔50万。我们保险公司的律师说虽然最后赔偿超过10万的可能性很小，如果超过10万的话，我们得付超过的部分，所以建议我们最好找我们自己的律师。请问，有没有必要找我们自己的律师？对方的车TOYOTA CROLLOA,即使新车也不过2万。
2。 老婆以前都说她没错（想右拐），现在如果突然改口承认是她自己的错，承认以前没说真话。请问这样的后果会是什么？我们的保险公司会因此拒绝赔偿对方而让我们买单吗？
