儿子偷用我的Card上网买东西

I have 3 sons, who may grow into very rebelling teenagers one day. The following story really caught my eye. Could Mr. Laomao or anyone else tell me if this is a crime and should be reported to police immediately? Reporting to police may destroy the boy's life, leaving permanent record on his criminal history, and push him farther away from the parents. Not reporting to police may let him believe he will always get away. What would be a good solution?

花了1千多，我们知道后，找他谈话，他拒绝谈，他一点都没有害怕、认错和悔改的意思，他昨天知道他买的东西被我们受到并扣留没给他,现在和我们对着干，而且想着怎样报复我们，他现在不去上学,我们该怎么办,要怎样跟学校说？要不要跟学校说实话，还是先Call Sick，要不他就是旷课，我也不知道，旷课会是怎样的处理结果，会不会开除他？他现在是九年级。
他这么叛逆已经不是一天两天了，我们管不了，他一点都不怕、不听我们的话。他爸想报警，叫警察，可我担心他就此会破罐子破摔，彻底毁了他。

我们该怎么办？！
