I have different experience.

When I was in B school , I was taught that it was professional style to take notes during interview.

After I graduated, I've had an interview with a Business Dr. for a Sr. product manager position in one of top 5 IT companies.I forgot to bring my notebook .The only negative feedback I got was that I didn't take notes during the interview. Also the business dr. said, if I had applied for a program manager position , he would have rejected my application .
