In 2000, I talked with a Merrill Linch advisor. He wanted to manage my account and I asked him what would be the return I could expect. He said he expected a crash in very near future, so he was conservative and would deliver a return at 10% per year. When I got home, I wrote him an E-mail saying "I won't hire you because I can manage my acocunt myself and get a 50%+ return each year".
