Sorry, I am confused.

Yes, my status is H1/H4 at I-485 pending. We never used AP for international travelso far, just used our passports. The customer officers and airline company never issued a new I-94 to us even I asked them to do so. They told me it is not necessary to change I-94 as canadian citizen.

Will our I-485s be invalid?
-Your I-485 is still valid because your status is H1 or H4 and then, you got the H1/H4 I-94 when you entered U.S. If your status is not h1/H4, you need to get AP for going to Canada and come back. Otherwise, your I-485 will be invalid.

That will be another issue besides financial aid.
-No problem. But your kid needs AP to go out of US and come back to be qualified for the financial aid.
