anyway: heat some oil, put garlic, ginger, onion and Dou4 Chi3 in it, wait till u smell it, put clam in, pour a bit Jiang You, then u have to be patient. As soon as a clam open its mouth, take it out, until all clam are open (otherwise it's dead, u cannot eat). Then put all clam back again, Gou1 Qian4 a bit, done.
