It is hard to get reservations at Babbo. What you can do is just to do Walk-ins. they do have 6 tabels for walkins.
If you really want to try Mario Batali's restaurant, you can also try Esca.
Another restaurant in my opnion that is worth trying is Bobby Flay's Bar Americain.
