I have a yogurt maker. In its manual, it says that the first step is to heat the milk in microwave using highest power for 8 minutes. After that, put the heated milk into your refrigirator for 20 minutes. Then move the milk out of the fridge, remove the milk skin and mix it with the yogurt culture. I follow this direction every time. No problem at all.
