If you don't mind , please take a look in this website "importfood.com" ,it is a Thai foods supply shop on the internet, there is a item called “solid brass wok" ,hand made too, I think it will work the same as the Japanese one I have, but the price is much more affordable.I like this kind of old style cook pot.
I bought a similar one (made of cast iron, hand made) in a small India shop in Manhattan a few years ago , looks exactly same like this Thai made one. I just like to collect this kind of old pot.
As a fry pot, I personally wouldn't suggest to put that much energy and extreme care to the pot, it is just a fry pot.
