Do I have to format my C drive ?

When I am running my laptop, my AC power is suddenly
disconnected. But at that time my battery is not
attached to my laptop so that I get a serious problem.
The laptop is not working anymore.

When I turn it on, I get blue screen with errors and warnings.
I try to run safe mode and other possible modes. All ends
up with the same blue screen.

I try to use operation system CD to run recovery mode and
it fails too.

I am thinking reinstallation of XP an only way. But I need
to format my C drive and data is going to lose.

Can everyone have any suggestions ?
